We are heading to beautiful Hyde Park, NY to visit one of the best culinary schools in the world The Culinary Institute of America or the CIA. The Culinary Institue of America is a private collage that offers masters and bachlor degrees in the culinary arts, pastery arts, baking, and hospitality. CIA's alumni are some of the worlds best chefs like Roy Choi, Duff Goldman, Anthony Bourdain, Charlie Palmer, Scott Conant, Rick Moonen, David Burke, Grant Achatz and more.

The CIA Experience—Taste, Learn, Tour
Go behind the scenes of CIA and get an inside look into our world of food. Participate in an interactive demonstration where you’ll explore the science of taste. Tour Roth Hall, the building where culinary magic happens, and be transported to exceptional moments in food history. Connect with CIA students in an exclusive Q&A session. The Class is by reservation and is $15 a person. We learned from current students of The Culinary Institute of America of the science of taste and how to use sweet, bitter, sour, salt , and umami to enhance food. We conducted or taste experience on grapes using salt, limes, sugar and hot sauce.
We then were given a tour of the beautiful campus. We can not help but think of Hogwarts while we are there. The School is full of student run fine dining restaurants that have reservations open to the public.
When the tour was done we hit the gift shop and then went across campus to The Egg. The Egg at the Culinary Institute of America is the sudent common room and its dining venue food hall style.
This dining venue offers seating for 500 students with an additional 150 seats outdoors.
