Lets first understand what is a coaching centre.

A ‘coaching centre’ is any facility run by an individual that provides coaching for study programmes, competitive tests, or academic support to students at the school, college, or university level, with a student capacity of more than 50.

Some major points related to this-

1. Coaching centers must apply for registration with the local competent authority, adhering to specified forms, fees, and document requirements as set by the government.

2. Further, no coaching centre can enroll student below 16 years of age, or engage tutors having qualification less than graduation.

3. If the student has paid for the course in full and is leaving the course in the middle of the prescribed period, a student will be refunded out of the fees deposited earlier for the remaining period on a pro-rata basis within 10 days.

4. In case of violation of any of the terms and conditions of registration or general conditions, the coaching centre shall be liable for penalties of ₹25,000 for first offence, ₹1 lakh for second time violation and revocation of registration for subsequent offence.
