How to Create an SCC 128 Label Using BarTender Barcoding Software

Today we’ll be creating a SCC 128 label. Using the barcode tool, grab the 128, right click for properties, select symbology and zie, select the GS1-128 checkbox, click application identifier data source wizard. Here are your application identifiers. These will be defined by the customer. They might need, for example, part number, serial number, and expiration date --- or GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), and batch number, and serial number. So whatever you want to put into the label, you set it here. But it’s really set by your customer’s requirements.

Now you’ll select which elements you need, pulling from your database.

When done, select “No, I don’t need anymore,” select finish, and drag your label into place. If the barcode is too big, you can shrink it to fix the label.

Note: BarTender will NOT let you print a label that will not be read. It archives this by having you select your particular printer ahead of time.
