Siemens SC-44 Charger Locomotives in Action

The Charger is a relatively new Diesel-electric locomotive built by Siemens Mobility in Sacramento, California. There are currently three different locomotive models in this series. The SC-44, the SCB-40, and the ALC-42. The SC-44 was the original Charger locomotive model and many different transit agencies from all over the United States have taken delivery of these locomotives since 2016. Let’s take a look at the SC-44 Charger locomotives running for every operator that has received these units as of 2021. We’ll see locomotives in commuter train service as well as on state funded Amtrak trains.
