Alta Via 1 | Dolomites | #10 Rifugio Carestiato - Rifugio Pramperet | Italian Alps

This is my 10th day on the Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites, Italy, from Rifugio Carestiato to Rifugio Pramperet. Upon departing Rifugio Carestiato, the trail leads down to Passo Duran and the official AV 1 route follows the road for a while. Then, the trail goes back into the woods and through the classic Dolomite mountain terrain. It started raining in the morning and the thunder still followed me. When the thunder got closer, a shelter magically appeared by the trail! After the violent thunderstorm, the sky cleared up fast! It was a long steady climb to the World War I fortress ruin and Forcella Moschesin. Rifugio Pramperet was in a beautiful location, and their vibe was a little unique.
