Stockport Station - FIVE Loco classes in an Afternoon at Stockport Station!
Classes 59, 60, 66, 67, 69
plus passenger unit variety!

Taking the opportunity of using TransPennine's £1 ticket offer, I took the train to Manchester to not only rediscover the train activity at Piccadilly station but also paid my £2.15 (with railcard) fare on the Stockport station where I spent a few hours.

I was delighted by the variety of freight passing through the station - engineers train, a biomass train, two 'binliner' container trains . I also saw a loco convoy and a route learning run. Classes 59, 60, 66 and 69!

I saw a Welsh Assembly Government loco powered train heading to and from Piccadilly - I could make a joke about the motto on the loco side but actually for once it is far from the truth - the WAG loco powered trains are among the best scheduled passenger trains in Britain.

Then there was the rich variety of unit passenger trains - both diesel and electric.
