Back on deck after 3 weeks off for medical reasons. Another learning curve and quite a tricky job for me this one. It was a delicate balance of budget/time vs amount of correction. Three panels had been repaired and resprayed so there was a wide range of paint measurements from 89um to 289um. There was also a lot of contamination on paint from substances like sunscreen and some unidentifiable smears that only polishing would remove. Paint had a LOT of swirls/scratches some pretty deep and was also quite soft and did not respond well to anything but light polishing which would only allow around 60% of swirls / scratch correction. I had to run the DA at no more than speed 3 and rotary on 1 or 2 using Menzerna 4000. I used a Zentool white compound pad to correct paint and a Lake Country Orange pad to polish. Running either polisher a little too long or fast resulted in slight marring of paint. The was a very challenging job for me to make sure paint had clarity and hologram free. Headlights got a wet sand 1500gt/2000 and wool / foam polish. It was first time coating interior and it went without any hitches. I was only able to film the initial paint inspection and finished products due to time constraints and budget.
