In this episode, I share 3 of my most favorite smoothie recipes! - Beets and Berries smoothie, Pumpkin Pie smoothie and Green smoothie! These are all AIP compliant and are great initially when you start AIP. You can have them for breakfast or as a snack.
I always emphasize 3 main components for a healthy smoothie - 1. Lots of vegetables and less fruit 2. A good fat (For AIP that is coconut milk, shredded coconut or avocado) 3. Some protein (for AIP that will be collagen peptides).
If you are not in AIP elimination and are OK with nuts, then soaked nuts can be a great source of both good fat and good protein.
You can vary the vegetables and fruits in different ways but keep similar ratios as the ones I show - that way you will always have a well balanced, low sugar and nutritious smoothie!
