Conversations on Photodetectors Part 1

Photonic technologies have been the core enabler of new applications and markets, from LiDAR used in autonomous vehicles to medical imaging or PCR/immunoassay techniques for COVID-19 detection. A critical component is the photodetectors within these systems that are able to detect various amounts of light levels, and selecting the right photodetectors is often the most challenging part of any optical-based designs. This podcast series will try to summarize key parameters to consider, so the selection process of photodetectors (photodiode, APD, SiPM, SPAD, and PMT) can be simplified.
