Solo Wild Camping, Northumberland - A moist and mucky night, on the edge of a Forest.

'The Forest Glade Pitch'
So I decided to head for the forest - mainly to keep my feet dry on the gravel trails.....but I didn't realise how boggy it would be when I had to go off-road rambling...
I enjoyed it though, and had to harvest a small, dead, standing tree for the fire, (I'd carried my firepit in and a few hardwood logs as well). I like that about forest camps, you've always got a bit of work to do before getting settled and relaxed.
It had been quite a while since I last forest camped, I forgot how moist and dirty and slimy a wet forest was. I was like a Victorian street urchin on the hike out the next day. 😂
