Temple of Shadows: 1 hour of mystic choir & ethereal sounds | inspired by Malazan Book of the Fallen

Let me tell you a story.

The Temple of Shadows stood over the city like a ghostly spectre. Its walls were blackened with age, and the smell of burning incense hung heavy in the air. No one knew exactly who or what was worshipped there, but rumors told of dark rituals and unspeakable deeds committed in the name of the Shadow.

One night, a group of curious travelers ventured into the temple, hoping to uncover its secrets. They made their way through the winding streets of the city, guided only by the flickering torchlight from the temple. As they neared the entrance, the travelers felt a shiver run down their spines. They hesitated for a moment, but curiosity and a sense of adventure drove them forward.

The interior of the temple was lit only by the faint glow of candles casting deep shadows on the stone walls. The scent of incense filled the air, and strange symbols were carved into the floor.
As the travelers moved deeper into the temple, they could hear the sound of chanting echoing through the halls. They followed the sound until they came to a large chamber filled with hooded figures swaying to the rhythm of their own chanting.

The travelers watched in awe and fear as the figures continued their ritual, their movements becoming more frantic with each passing moment. Suddenly, one of the figures turned and fixed its gaze on the travelers.Without saying a word, the figure motioned for the travelers to join her. Unsure what to do, the travelers hesitated, but their curiosity won out and they stepped forward to join the ritual.

As they joined hands with the hooded figures, the chanting grew louder and wilder. Suddenly, the ground beneath them began to tremble and the walls shook with an eerie force. With a deep humming sound, a vortex of energy opened up in the centre of the room. The hooded figures were pulled into the vortex and disappeared into the swirling mass of energy.

The travellers stood frozen in fear, not knowing what to do next. But as the vortex began to close, one of the hooded figures reappeared and beckoned the travellers to follow her. In a spontaneous moment, the travellers took the figure's hand and were pulled into the vortex, not knowing what awaited them on the other side. But when they emerged, they found themselves in a strange new world, surrounded by the dark energy they had experienced in the temple.

The travellers had unwittingly stumbled across a portal to another realm where the Shadow itself ruled. And as they looked back through the vortex, they saw the Temple of Shadows standing in the distance, a beacon of mystery and darkness in a world consumed by darkness.
