River Kayak Fishing - Licking River Below the Cave Run Dam Spillway - Kentucky

I did a short float on the Licking River in Kentucky last week, putting in at the ramp just below the Cave Run Dam spillway and ending at my buddy's house in Morehead. This river is amazing! The variety of fish (river muskie!) and the amount of fish habitat (tons of wood!) in the river made it one of the most interesting rivers I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately, I launched late so and had to hurry to get there by dark, so I didn't get in as much fishing as I wanted (full disclosure, zero fish in this video!), but after getting a look at this river, I am definitely going back to spend a full day fishing! I saw one huge long something cruise right by my boat, which I think was a giant muskie, or a prehistoric sea monster... either way I can't imagine hooking into something like that in my little kayak... but I'm going to keep trying! Also bummed that I accidentally deleted the footage from my back camera (the one that shows the river in front of me). I was packing up for the tournament the next day (Cave Run Memorial Bass Tournament... look for the video up on my GirlGoneFishing channel!), and it was 4:30am, no coffee, I was checking my GoPros and thought, "oh look at that, I forgot to clear the sd card before I came down". It didn't occur to me until I was editing that was actually my footage from the river. That, plus the lack of fish caught, makes me sad, but you can still get an idea of how cool this river is from the video.
