Master copy of Elisabeth Vigeé Le Brun portrait painting - Reference for my art practice

Hi folk,

Today I just decided to do a portrait master copy with oil pastel from one of the greatest female portraitists of the 18th century. Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. Or maybe we can name her one of the greatest artists of her age, despite of gender?

Vigee Le Brun's portraits are renowned for their softness, depth, and expressive quality. I discovered that using oil pastels to emulate Vigee Le Brun’s technique is a joyful journey of discovery. I have to pay special attention to the eyes of the subjects because Le Brun did her part so well on the eyes that infused them with a lively, expressive quality. I think the oil pastel did well on building layers and layers of depth, bringing the portrait to life with velvety smoothness.
