PLANTING TREES (Tree planting at my off-grid homestead in Portugal Rural Life) *33

Hello good people!

Welcome again to my homestead, where I am committed on preserving the natural beauty of this land.

Today, I'm planting two new trees, continuing my work on planting different and diversified trees, to create a healthier environment and to give back to nature.
Trees are not only beautiful, but they also provide essential benefits to us and to the surroundings.

I've already planted several fruit trees, but I'm not trying just that!
I now have several "carvalhos cerquinhos" (portuguese oaks, Quercus faginea), several "sobreiros" (cork oaks, Quercus suber) besides the giant one next to the house and 4 stakes of "avelaneiras" (common hazels, Corylus avellana).
I also had success with three "pinheiros mansos" (umbrella pines or stone pines, Pinus pinea), different from the very common "pinheiro bravo" (maritime pine, Pinus pinaster) all around this region.
I've been trying some "azevinhos" (common holly, Ilex aquifolium) too, but they tend to die.
For now, just one did survive a hole year.
I've also tested "carvalho negral" (pyrenean oak, Quercus pyrenaica) but they did not even sprout...
And unfortunately, the "castanheiro" (sweet chestnut, Castanea sativa) does not like the homestead clima, although they exist not far away, nearer the big mountains.
I have the intention to also try "pilriteiro" (common hawthorn, Crataegus monogyna) and one or two "nogueiras" (walnuts, Juglans regia).

The second one I've planted I quite don't remember how it's called. :O
I had it for 20 years now, inside my urban city apartment, but for the last 2 years it decayed considerably.
So, I brought it here to see if it likes the outdoor living or not.
We'll see...
