A long video but so much was happening today it would take a long time to split into separate videos,

The Balfour Beatty 20s passed through en route to Penrith. However they got no further than Upperby with loco problems.

The blue Rail Head Treatment Tanks arrived at Carlisle from Thrall in York. This is an annual occurrence in plenty of time for the rail head treatment train season. They are parked up on the back wall Holding Siding behind the Thunderbird until needed.

Tangmere arrived late from Hellifield with The Dalesman . The delay was due to its hotel services diesel braking down, requiring a 57 to be added to its train. These were replaced by another 47 at Carlisle. The 57 returned the demic 47 to Steamtown Carnforth.

Then the Logs broke down north of Shap. This caused chaos for around an hour as WCML trains backed up behind it - all the way north of Carlisle - until the 70 was restarted and the train moved on to Tebay.

The delayed trains were quickly sent on their way but prioritising scheduled trains delayed The Dalesman again. Otherwise it could have been despatched on time.
