I have long wanted to reframe our relationship to heat. In the past, our curls & coils have been burned & fried into submission — blow dryers & tools designed to strip us of the gorgeous bounce & bends of our texture. Only after our hair becomes damaged and after we lose our zigs and zags, did we miss the vibrant beauty of the textures that authentically grew out of our scalps. I, like so many of us, nursed my hair back to health after years of pressing it within an inch of its life. Slowly, I began to learn my natural pattern, nurturing it with ingredients and formulas that hydrated and loved on my hair. Along the way, I realized that heat, when used correctly, could be an entrance into new adventures. ​
