Kaya is the most popular local jam which made out of coconut and we normally enjoy it with a slice of toasted bread or added to the bakes and pastries. This simplifies and aromatic sweet Malaysian coconut jam recipe is made without eggs and it’s very easy to make. Here I have 2 version of kaya spread, you can easily whip up this creamy kaya spread in less than 15 minutes. Hope you enjoyed this recipe. ( Recipe below)

Caramel kaya ingredients:
200ml coconut cream
150g dark brown sugar or light brown sugar (reduce sugar to your taste)
1/4 tsp salt
2 knots pandan leaves


Pandan kaya ingredients:
200ml coconut cream
80g-100g sugar (reduce the sugar to your taste)
10 pandan leaves
1/4 tsp salt


Method to make Caramel kaya-
1.) Method: Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan.

2.) Cook the mixture with low heat until it thickens.

4.) Remove from the heat and let it cool completely before transfer to a clean jam bottle.

5.) Chill in refrigerator for 4 hours.

6.) Enjoy caramel kaya spread with a slice of toasted bread.

7.) You can keep the kaya spread in fridge for up to a week.



Method to make Pandan kaya-
1.) Method: Mix all the ingredients in a blender. Blend till smooth and strain the mixture.

2.) Pour the mixture into a saucepan. Cook the mixture with low heat until it thickens.

3.) Remove from the heat and let it cool completely before transfer to a clean jam bottle.

4.) Chill in refrigerator for 4 hours.

5.) Enjoy pandan kaya spread with a slice of toasted bread.

6.) You can also keep the kaya spread in fridge for up to a week.
