Flyer One Zero and... the Whole Nine Yards in the Vision Jet (full flight EINN - EGNS)

Описание к видео Flyer One Zero and... the Whole Nine Yards in the Vision Jet (full flight EINN - EGNS)

I'm back with another flight video, this time a leg from Shannon in Ireland to Douglas on the Isle of Man in the FlightFX Vision Jet, a new aircraft for the channel.

EDIT: I say that I'm landing at Orbx's EGNS in the video. This is incorrect. It is UK2000's EGNS (and very nice it is too). Orbx do not currently (03/24) have scenery for EGNS.

I wanted to do something a bit different this time. This video is an end-to-end tour of how things work in my cockpit from literal power-up to shutting everything down at the end. I show the steps I have to take, software I use, and processes I need to go through to produce a flight video in the sim. If you wanted to see how the sausage is made, this video is for you.

Compared to even my usual long-form videos, this is a VERY LONG video at 105+ minutes. If you're just interested in the flying parts, use these chapters to skip to what you want to see:

00:30 - Intro and sim setup
04:14 - OBS and MSFS startup
09:16 - Flight planning in Simbrief
12:18 - LittleNavMap and moving the flight plan to ForeFlight
14:08 - Sim flight plan and setup
18:22 - Pilot2ATC setup
20:10 - Pop Out Panel Manager + Air Manager
23:44 - Setting up the aircraft and before start checklists
28:19 - Engine start
31:10 - BFF Shaker (butt-kicker)
34:24 - Taxi to runway
40:38 - Takeoff
50:43 - Navigraph Charts G3000 integration
1:04:00 - A quick look at Dublin
1:07:38 - Top of descent
1:16:53 - Approach begins
1:25:46 - Final approach + ILS
1:29:02 - Landing + Taxi to parking
1:36:57 - After landing
1:40:51 - Shutting down the sim

I make videos about building and operating a flight simulator. The videos here cover a wide range of topics within flight simulation but especially how to build and maintain a sim, including constructing your own equipment, sim software setup and software development for simulators. I also film full flights in the sim.

Currently, the simulator consists of a home-built partial cockpit structure with a large TV for a display. This is a temporary setup that I will use while I build a completely new sim in my back bedroom.

I'm not a professional pilot and I make a lot of mistakes, but I have a lot of fun and if you're interested in aviation and in particular home cockpit building, you could do a lot worse than subscribe!

----------------------

Temporary simulator specs are:

Main PC: Core i9 13900K 13th-gen CPU / 32 GB RAM / 4TB NVMe storage / GTX 4090 / Win11 Pro / SPAD.Next etc

The console has: 2 touch-screen monitors, an OpenCockpits 737 MCP v2, PFC yoke, Saitek switch panel and either an Emuteq G1000 set or an additional 2 touch screens used to display the G3000 avionics.

The home-built pedestal includes interchangeable throttle panels with either a custom Throttletek A320-style quadrant for jets or a VirtualFly TQ6+ throttle quadrant for flying piston engine and turbojet aircraft.
