Chris Ray, PhD (@pikaresearch), a wildlife biologist and pika researcher at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, talks about how humans and pikas interract in the alpine. The good news is that people hiking on the 14ers generally will not have much impact on these cute critters and there is little to fear from pikas damaging your gear. The effect of climate change, however, is the main way humans are affecting the American pika. Learn more in this video.
