Chris Ray, PhD (@pikaresearch), a wildlife biologist and pika researcher at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, talks about the lifecycle and longevity of the American Pika, which is commonly found on most 14ers. In this video she explains pika mating, the multiple gestational cycles female pikas have annually, why co-habitating with marmots is a good idea, what an average year looks like for a pika and how long pikas live in the wild.
