WALKS IN DORSET at SPETISBURY (4K)

Описание к видео WALKS IN DORSET at SPETISBURY (4K)

In this episode of my series “ Walks in Dorset”, I take a 3.5 mile circular walk in and around Spetisbury in Dorset. Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan.

Parking in Spetisbury is tricky but the website for the Spetisbury Station Project states that you can park in the Primary School car park at the West end of the village but only outside of school hours.

I start my walk by crossing the A350 and head North East past Clapcott's Farm and on to Keneston Mill (crossing sections of the River Stour a few times). I then head South East towards Tarrant Crawford where I get to explore the Church of St Mary the Virgin – which is basically all that is left of the old Tarrant Abbey.

I then head South back to Spetisbury, crossing the magnificent Crawford Bridge, over the A350 again to join the Trailway.

I take a footpath that runs parallel to the Trailway, heading North West, to explore the Iron Age Hill Fort known as Spetisbury Rings.

My final destination is the old Spetisbury Railway station (the platforms are still there) on the Trailway before a short walk back to my car.

NB: I should have removed my cap when I was in the church - please accept my apologies for the oversight.
