Helping parents with children's literacy | Celebrating Impact

Описание к видео Helping parents with children's literacy | Celebrating Impact

Professor Cathy Nutbrown has been working on family literature research for twenty years. In this video, you can see the impact of her work at Grace Owen Nursery School in Sheffield, where practitioners work with parents to help them support their children with everyday #literacy.

The ORIM framework (Opportunities, Recognition, Interaction, Model) has informed this work, helping to empower #parents with the confidence to support their children, with simple ideas for using literacy in everyday life. From reading stories together, to using logos while out shopping - see the impact on diverse families in this video.

Professor Cathy Nutbrown is winner of the Society category of the ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2013.

The ESRC Celebrating #Impact Prize recognises and rewards the successes of ESRC-funded #researchers achieving outstanding economic and societal impacts.
