Simple T-Push Drill

Описание к видео Simple T-Push Drill

Here are a few simple T-Push drills you can practice on your own. They will translate to other movements and types of saves very easily later on so be sure to get a good grasp of them.

To do this correct be sure to always have your weight over the gliding leg, mainly in the balls of your feet, where your toes meet the rest of the foot. You may have to bend the knees and ankles quite a bit to get the right balance. Sometimes you have to extend your hands out in front to maintain the balance.

Your gliding leg points in the direction you want to go, while the striding leg is at 90 degrees to that, so it can deliver a good strong push.

Always obey the orders of movement rules to ensure you have good form, this will also allow your feet to almost instinctively follow the upper body.

When stopping the gliding foot is the one to do the stop, only then is the power foot brought under your body and squared up to the angle you want. This power foot also should always be in contact with the ice thru out the entire movement.

To get better at form and stability, practice these drills by gliding as far as you can while maintaining proper form or while learning how to get proper form. Another good habit to get into is start off moving slowly and deliberately. Pause at certain points to double check you have it correct and remember how things like, the weight in your feet or the angle of the elbows, feels. Feeling the positions is a big part of training the muscle memory.

N go out there and have fun trying these drills and let me know how well they work or not.
