Grand welcome for PM Modi in Assam: Over 1 lakh diyas light up Guwahati

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Guwahati on Saturday for his 2-day visit to the state of Assam. During his visit, he is scheduled to launch projects worth over Rs 11,000 crores.

He was welcomed by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with traditional dance performances by various troupes right outside the Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. The highlight of the welcome ceremony was the lighting of over 1 lakh diyas in Guwahati's Khanapara Vetenery field, a reminiscent of Ayodhya-style welcome to Lord Ram. This also come after the consecration of new Ram Lalla’s idol at the Ayodhya temple on January 22, which was led by PM Modi himself.
