GOLD Chain For Our BMW M1000RR! | M1000RR Series Part 12

At COTA this past year for MotoGP, we were able to meet many people and even got a chance to take a tour of teams pit!

And we learned one very interesting thing. MotoGP teams throw out their chains after every race. Their chains are not used for more than 1 race length. But the reasoning is the interesting part. Their engineers mentioned how big of a difference a brand new chain makes to the power delivery.

With that knowledge, we are upgrading our chain to one of the best chains available right now, and doing the full 520 conversion to have our entire setup as optimized as possible.

Why do we do this? Weight savings! We save over 2 pounds of rotating mass with this setup. 2 pounds of weight savings on the very parts that transfer all the horsepower from the engine to the wheels, so here is where the weight savings matter.

Also, the tensile strength of these chains are actually higher than the OEM chains.

And while we're at it, we add the Alpha Racing quickshifter, a carbon fiber kickstand and carbon fiber electronics cover!

The carbon fiber pieces give us some weight savings, but really they're more for the looks. However, the Alpha Racing quickshifter does tout to give faster and smoother shifts due to its cell based tech. And its an upgrade you can feel, because with the Alpha racing quickshifter, the slight spongy feel from the OEM shifter is gone.
