Coplay, Pennsylvania:

At 7:58PM Wednesday October 30, 2024, Lehigh County 911 transmitted the box for 839 Catherine Drive, Coplay for the house fire. Chief 18 went responding and was given the additional from fire dispatch of multiple calls received.

Police arrived and reported a fully-involved house fire. That information was transferred to Chief 18 and signaled a working fire. When he arrived, he advised of heavy fire from a two-story duplex and had the second alarm struck.

Engine 5 arrived from the east and stretched two lines, a hand line and a blitz fire to the rear of the house. The deck was and rear of the house was well-involved and fire was venting from the roof by this time.

Quint 18 and Ladder 2 positioned in front of the house and both went to the roof. Whitehall Engine 39 brought a water supply in from the west.

The news reported that numerous neighbors told them a grill on the deck started the fire. The Fire Marshal's office is investigating.

Two firefighters had minor injuries and were treated on the scene by Cetronia EMS 62 and released.

The fire was placed under control by 8:43PM. Both homes received major fire and smoke damage. The exposure (Side b) received heat damage to the exterior.

Coplay, North Catasauqua, Catasauqua, Northampton, Whitehall, Laurys Station, Greenawalds, Woodlawn, Allen, Nancy Run, Walnutport and Cetronia EMS were all on the scene.
