‪@AshalathaDSVlog‬ ബന്ദിപ്പൂരിനും ഗുണ്ടൽപേട്ടക്കും അടുത്തുള്ള ഗോപാൽ സ്വാമി ബേട്ടയിൽ പോകാം, എപ്പോഴും മൂടൽ മഞ്ഞിൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുന്ന കാട്ടിനുള്ളിൽ മലമുകളിലുള്ള ഒരു പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ ആകർഷണം. ഗുണ്ടല്‍പ്പെട്ട് നിന്ന് 16 കിലോമീറ്റർ തെക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന മനോഹരമായ ചുറ്റുപാടുകളുള്ള ഒരു ഉയർന്ന കുന്നാണ് ഗോപാലസ്വാമി ബേട്ട (കുന്നു). സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്ന് 4,770 അടി ഉയരത്തിലാണ് ഇത് ഉയരുന്നത്. ദക്ഷിണ ഗോവർദ്ധനഗിരി എന്നും ഇത് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. കുന്നിന്റെ കൊടുമുടി മേഘങ്ങളാൽ പൊതിഞ്ഞതായി തോന്നുന്നു
മൂടൽമഞ്ഞ്, അതിനാൽ ഹിമവദ് ഗോപാലസ്വാമി ബേട്ട എന്ന പേര് ലഭിച്ചു (ഹിമവദ് എന്നാൽ മൂടൽമഞ്ഞിൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു). പതിമൂന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ പണിതതെന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പഴയ കോട്ട കുന്നിൽ ഉണ്ട്. കോട്ടയ്ക്കകത്ത് ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ഗോപാലസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രമുണ്ട്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഗോപുരം ഒറ്റത്തട്ടാണ്, ചുറ്റുമതിലിന്റെ ചുവരിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. മുഖമണ്ഡപത്തിന്റെ മുൻവശത്തെ പാരപെറ്റ് ഭിത്തിയിൽ ദശാവതാരത്തിന്റെ (വിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ അവതാരങ്ങൾ) ശിൽപം അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.ഗർഭഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഒരു മരത്തിന്റെ ചുവട്ടിൽ ഓടക്കുഴൽ വായിക്കുന്ന ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്റെ വിഗ്രഹമുണ്ട്. ഇടത്തെ കാൽവിരൽ വലതുവശത്ത് ചാർത്തുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ വിഗ്രഹം മനോഹരമായി കൊത്തിവച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, is a hill (betta in Kannada) located in the Gundlupete Taluk, Chamarajanagar district of the state of Karnataka,It is also the highest peak in the Bandipur National Park. It lies in the core area of the Bandipur National Park and is frequented by wild life including elephants. Dense fog predominates and covers the hills round the year and thus gets the prefix Himavad and the temple of Venugopalaswamy (Krishna) gives the full name of Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta.
The temple was built in hoysala Era in 1315. King veera Ballala built this iconic temple. Later the Wodeyars Wodeyar dynasty of Mysore improved the hill temple.
Being a part of the Bandipur National Park, the hills are frequented by grazing wild elephants. The place is also known for its views of the surrounding hills, valleys and visitors may also see sunrise and sunsets from the top.
TIMING -- Visitors are allowed to Temple only between 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Last Return Bus from the Top of the Hill will be at around 4:30 PM.
