String Quartet No. 5 (Complete) in Bb major by Benjamin McLean

Hi, here is my 5th string quartet. Hope you like.

1. Allegro con moto 00:00-03:35
2. Andantino 03:35-08:24
3. Allegro vivace 08:24-15:53

I should really write something that isn't a string quartet! In fact I have a lot of other things on my list to finish writing, and many other pieces I'd like to start. I really enjoy writing for string quartet, and I think in my 5 quartets so far I've learned a lot about this form, even whilst adhering to a rather non-modern style.

This quartet has 3 movements, two fast on either side of a slower one. Only the first movement is in Bb major, the other two spend a lot of time in A major.

For my next quartet I think I'll try not to have quite so many double stops as this one 😂
