Why did Bas Rutten return to the Faith? Was he physically attacked by a spirit??

Bas has lived a crazy life, a fun life in where he did a lot of good, but he also did a lot of bad things.
He was always against the Church but then things started happening to him, things he couldn't just ignore and "swipe away", and when they kept popping up, he got back into his Faith.
