Challenging Geometry Problem: Two Circles inside a Rectangle - Find the Shaded Area

Описание к видео Challenging Geometry Problem: Two Circles inside a Rectangle - Find the Shaded Area

This is another super-exciting and a little puzzling geometry question. We've got two circles tightly crammed inside a big rectangle with an unknown side length. We also do not know the radii or the diameters of the circles. As a matter of fact, the only lengths we know in this problem are two line segments that look completely unrelated to what we are looking for. And we must find the area of a green region. This geometry problem has a medium level of difficulty, so it is not very hard but definitely not easy, too. But that makes it excellent for developing your skills in finding the area of the shaded region type of questions. If you want to try solving this on your own, go ahead. Here is a clue for you. You will have to use need to use the Pythagorean theorem. And to do that you first need to find a right triangle. You will also need to need to draw a ton of radii for both circles on the diagram. If you cannot solve it on your own, no need to despair because I am here to show you how to do it in five minutes. I hope you enjoy the video, have fun watching it, and feel like you have actually learned something important and cool by watching this video to the end!
