Australian Tasty Cheese Comparison - Martian Cookery

Описание к видео Australian Tasty Cheese Comparison - Martian Cookery

In Australia, Cheddar Cheese is called "Tasty Cheese". I don't know why this is so, since to my knowledge there is no prohibition on the use of the name "Cheddar" for similar cheeses made outside England. Nor does "Tasty" refer to the age of the cheese in Australia, since one can easily buy "Tasty", "Extra Tasty" and "Vintage Tasty".

One might think that all the many varieties of "Tasty" in Australia would be much the same and that is mostly true but not entirely, as there are some outliers that are quite different. Additionally, even amongst the central cohort of standard "Tasty" there are still minor differences in flavour.

In this video I taste 7 famous varieties from the big 4 supermarkets in Oz, both raw and melted over toast. I point out the differences and give my recommendation at the end. The winner will probably not be surprise but the runner up may be and there are some surprises, so make sure to watch it to the end.
