“Cotton-eyed Joe”played by Altonium made in 1936 /88年前のアメリカ製アルトニアムでアメリカ民謡「コットン・アイ・ジョー」を吹いてみたよ

King のAltonium（アルトニアム）という楽器で、アメリカ発祥の民謡とされるこの曲をを吹いてみました♪
この曲の起源は詳細不明だそうですが、南北戦争時代に遡ると言います。近年ではラインダンスの伴奏として用いられるほか、ニューヨーク・ヤンキースやボストン・レッドソックスなどの試合でも演奏されるなど、広く愛されています。

I played this song, which is said to be an American folk song, on a King Altonium♪
The details of the song's origins are unclear, but it is said to date back to the Civil War. In recent years, it has become widely loved, being used as an accompaniment for line dances and played at games for the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.

こちらの楽器は、もともとはホルン奏者向けの持ち替え楽器だそうで、シャンクもホルンのマウスピースに合うようになっています。こちらはアルトホルンのマウスピースで吹いてます。
古い楽器なので音程にやや難がありますが、柔らかく優しい音色が気に入っています。


This instrument was originally a replacement instrument for horn players, and the shank is also designed to fit the horn's mouthpiece. I play this with alto horn’s one. It's an old instrument, so the pitch is a little difficult, but I like the soft and gentle tone.
