Описание к видео TRD Griffon 86: Inspiration - Scion TRD FR-S Project Car [Part 1]

The upcoming Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 was inspired by our own Scion TRD FR-S project car, which in turn was influenced by the Griffon Toyota 86 built by TRD's Japanese division.

In the first part of our three part series detailing the Scion TRD FR-S project car, we went overseas to hear about the philosophy of the Griffon 86 from the car's chief engineer, then explained some of the changes we made to that concept for the American market.

Scion is a brand of vehicles produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market. Founded in 2002, Scion was introduced at the New York Auto Show to appeal to Generation Y consumers. The first Scion models, the xA hatchback and xB wagon, went on sale in California in 2003, followed by a sports coupe, the tC, and a nationwide U.S. launch in 2004.

A successor to the xA, the xD, premiered in 2008, and the Scion marque expanded to Canada in 2010. Scion currently has five models: the tC, xB, iQ, xD, and the FR-S. The Scion name, meaning the descendant of a family or heir, refers both to the brand's cars and their owners.
