Описание к видео 《飞天》Flying Apsaras (RICO Y5-6)

Performed by Raffles Institution (Y5-6) Chinese Orchestra | 12 May 2024 | SOTA Concert Hall

This piece is inspired by the murals titled Flying Apsaras, a female celestial in Hindu and Buddhist culture, on the walls of the Dunhuang cave. It commences with a hint of mysticality depicting the changing colours of the sky. It then depicts the various dance forms and styles of the celestial, before ending on a quiet note that symbolises the return of the fairies to the "murals".
