Meredith Nelson Windsor, 89 years old, passed away on December 23, 2024 in her private room at the Legacy House Care Center in Taylorsville, Utah. Meredith’s spirit returned to her heavenly home after living a good life here on earth. She passed from natural aging, with her son Kevin Windsor present.
She was born on September 12, 1935 in Albion, Idaho to Wallace Hans Nelson and Portia Neeley Nelson. Meredith had rich family ties in Southern Idaho. She graduated from Preston High School, then attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and the LDS Hospital Nursing School where she graduated in 1956 as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career covered about 45 years and many disciplines, including upper management positions.
Meredith married Robert Windsor in 1955 in Riverdale, Idaho, in her Neeley Grandparents home. They had three children, Kevin Robert Windsor, Valerie Diane Windsor (Kellogg), and Kathleen Gayle Windsor (Ricker). Meredith and Robert eventually were divorced.
Meredith spent her life as a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings. Her many hobbies included painting, gardening, and “glittering.” She loved to see and hear birds sing. She loves flowers and she loved decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She also loved to dress up for Halloween. In her younger life, her passion was reading and learning. She was a wonderful teacher. She had a beautiful singing voice and was asked to sing in church meetings, weddings, funerals, to name a few. Meredith loved the ocean and mountains which were often subjects of her paintings. She would have liked to travel.
Meredith is survived by her children and their spouses; Kevin Robert Windsor and Elizabeth Johnson Windsor, Valerie Diane Kellogg and George Kellogg, Kathleen Gayle Ricker and John Ricker. She has 18 living grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother David Hull and his wife Patsy Bennett Hull, and their 3 children. Meredith loved having a big family and large family gatherings.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Sycamore Stake Center, 7580 Abbotsbury Lane, West Jordan, Utah 84081. There will be two viewings; the first at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 E. Preston, Idaho on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 6-8 pm. The second will be a family viewing at the Sycamores Stake Center in West Jordan, Utah on January 3, 2025, from 9:00 – 9:45 am. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Riverdale, Idaho at 3:00 pm on January 3, 2025. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com.
