Another Day - A Widow's Poem About Her Grief

Описание к видео Another Day - A Widow's Poem About Her Grief

I wrote this poem shortly after my husband, Zach Torino, transitioned to the realm beyond on October 5, 2023.
Grief has been a difficult journey. This poem, as well as some to follow, barely describes the pain one may suffer.

Another day, another sunrise.
Another morning I despise.
Another waking hour alone,
Another heartbeat cold as stone.

Another moment passes by
Another reason that I cry.
Another day is agony,
Since you've been away from me.

You worshiped me in many ways,
I saw it deep within your gaze.
My soul would fly when you would smile,
Your laughter made my life worthwhile.

You said I filled your empty heart,
I was your purpose from the start.
You never believed I felt the same.
Always stuck in your constant shame.

You hated every part of you,
If you only slightly knew,
The love I held for who you are
In the dark, my guiding star.

It wasn't enough, the love we shared.
Watching you die made me scared.
To endure life without your light,
Turns every day to darkest night.

My soul hurts, the pain unending.
Mundane things are heartrending.
Every moment I'm asking why,
Every second, I want to die.

I'm broken now, scattered pieces.
Bleeding scars, it never ceases.
Love had filled my thoughts and heart,
Now torment tears them apart.

And now I'm lost without your love,
I pray you see me from above,
As I crawl through life askew,
Yearning for a sign from you.
