I'd heard some lovely renditions of this song growing up, but the one that stuck most was that of the Alathur Brothers. Their characteristic sangatis with rather less heard Sindhu Bhairavi phrasing in both sections made the composition sound and feel even more grand. And so, I lost no time notating it, and have been singing it for over 10 years now in concerts.
In this concert held by Nada Sudha, accompanying me were Vaibhav Ramani on the violin and Vid. J Vaidyanathan on the mridangam.
