Cuppy's Music Curios S1 E3: Doug Yule's Velvet Underground Part Three 1971 "Loaded" European Tour

Описание к видео Cuppy's Music Curios S1 E3: Doug Yule's Velvet Underground Part Three 1971 "Loaded" European Tour

The Velvet Underground would tour Europe beginning on October 5, 1971 and were scheduled to play 35 dates in a no frills, shoe string budgeted tour that was partially financed by their record label Atlantic Records so they could promote the album "Loaded". The band played in mostly college venues and small clubs as their manager Steve Sesnick and label felt that they could attract younger fans. They played to a lot of packed crowds despite Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison or John Cale not being in the band. After the tour was over, the members were told by Sesnick that they would be heading into a London studio to lay down some tracks for a second Atlantic Records album.

Well, that didn't happen as only Doug Yule would be the one to enter the studio to record material for either a solo album or a potential fifth Velvet Underground album. What is the truth? Thanks again to the Velvet Underground Web Page for being a helpful source once again for providing links and online resources that helped fill in the gaps of my research while making this video!.
