Judas Priest "Let Us Prey/Call For The Priest" Guitar Cover

"Let Us Prey/Call For The Priest" are the opening (and often mislabeled) tracks on side 2 of Sin After Sin, the third full-length Judas Priest album. The first for Columbia Records, it was initially released on April 8th, 1977. I've heard it called "proto speed metal and/or proto prog metal", and that's a reasonably fair assessment. The writing on this album is stellar - mostly thanks to Tipton & Halford, although Downing gets his pound of flesh in some key, shining moments. It is the only Judas Priest record with drummer Simon Phillips, who is arguably the best out of a very impressive, long list of them. It's also the only chance I'll ever get to play with him, haha - so expect more covers from Sin After Sin in the future. It's been a staple of my musical existence since I was a teenager, and certainly a favorite.

As usual with these 70's dudes, seems they just tuned to one another in the studio, because they're all over the place on Sin After Sin, and on this one I had to adjust -26 cents to sound correct, but it's ostensibly in A.

I'm doing these cover videos purely for my own enjoyment - while I write for several upcoming planned projects that should hopefully take form this year. Thought I'd share for anyone interested. I figure them out by ear, so any mistakes are solely my own. I think they're mostly right. Cheers.

I do not own the rights to, nor claim copyright to, any music in this video.
