Traditional Cures from James Graham, Gorey, Co. Wexford

Описание к видео Traditional Cures from James Graham, Gorey, Co. Wexford

For those of you interested in old cures from Ireland here is brief chat I had with James Graham from Tubberneering, Gorey talking about his late father George, who was well known for having various cures for animals and humans. George died 11 years ago and his daughter Mary now carries on the tradition.

In the short clip, James talks about his father having a cure for stopping blood, a cure for warts, as well a cure for ‘foulds’ in the feet of cattle and sheep. He also recalls a great cure for shingles involving the blood of a black cock.

It's great to see that these cures and these healers still exist within our communities and that they are not just some 'stories' found in archives or books about 'life years ago'.
