SUSTAINABILITY - we show what matters! Eco-friendly Gdynia Sailing Days

The Polish Yachting Association, in line with its sustainable development policy, has introduced many eco-friendly changes in the organization of sailing events. These are most evident during Gdynia Sailing Days, where thanks to partners and cooperation with the city, the organizer can achieve even more. However, what makes us most happy is that by co-organizing international regattas such as the 29er European Championships, we collaborate with associations for whom ecology and sustainability are also of great importance. A shared passion and wise organization are the best recipe for success!

What actions did we take this year?
1. Joint marina cleanup with a reward of a water bottle from our partner Port Gdynia – proving we care about our workplace!
2. After the race, we had lunch from a local supplier using biodegradable dishes. A vegetarian option was also available!
3. Every weekend, you could talk to WWF Blue Patrol volunteers and learn the secrets of the Baltic Sea.
4. Throughout the regatta village, appropriate waste sorting bins were prepared.
5. Competitors arrived at the port on their bicycles and parked them in a specially prepared bike rack.
6. Getting to the airport has never been more eco-friendly. Only electric cars on the way!
7. We presented eco-friendly prizes, made from recycled old sails, to the winners.
8. Once again, we abandoned the use of stickers on the boats.
