Six-year-old Robin (name changed), who came to Banaras with his family from Nepal, got separated from his loved ones. He waited for his relatives for several days near the Nepali temple located at Lalitaghat and finally started roaming around the ghats to fill his stomach. Robin was shown the way home by 'Mission Muskan', which was started by Chief Development Officer Himanshu Nagpal (IAS Himanshu Nagpal) in July last year. Himanshu used to see children begging on the roads, under flyovers, outside railway stations. The children told that they are not residents of this place and have been separated from their family.

Himanshu decided to reunite the children with their parents and started Mission Muskaan. Formed 12 teams of 60 officers from departments like child development, social welfare and police etc. and entrusted them with the responsibility of identifying children begging near railway stations, bus stands, ghats, under flyovers, temples and hotels etc. So far 730 children have been reunited with their families. Some children got separated from their loved ones while traveling in the train, while others reached here by taking the wrong train. There were some children who came to Kashi to visit and stayed here.
