There is a temple in India which has been looted 17 times and demolished 6 times till date, but every time this temple was successful in saving its existence and standing again. Which temple is this and what is the history behind it? Let us know! The famous Somnath temple in Saurashtra, Gujarat is one of the eternal pilgrimage sites. It is not known who built this 4000 year old temple. But according to mythology, Chandradev had built this temple to worship Lord Shiva. The special thing about this temple is the arrow pillar present in the temple premises. It is said that this is a compass pillar with an arrow pointing towards the sea! Also, it is written on this pillar, "Asamudraant Dakshin Dhruv, till the end, there is uninterrupted path of light", which means, from this point of the ocean i.e. from Somnath temple to the South Pole, there is no mountain or land in a straight line. And if you look at the map, this is also true! But the thing to think about here is that thousands of years ago, without any advanced technology, how could those people know about this? This is a mystery even today!
