The tips of the shanks (the rippers) on the box blade wear out pretty quick around here. Being in the mountains, there are lots of big rocks in the ground that I'm constantly running into.

These things are meant to be dimple-on, meaning you pinch the soft sides into a dimple on the shank to keep them attached. I don't have a real torch to heat them up or a press to dimple them on, so I just weld them on. They haven't fallen off yet, so I guess that's good enough.

I am a terrible welder, by the way. Following my welding example will only lead to tragedy. :)
