Compare the sounds of the reissue of the classic Neumann M 49 V to the TLM 49!

The M 49 V is a variable polar pattern tube microphone while the TLM 49 is a transformer-less solid state FET microphone with a fixed cardioid pattern.

The vocal shootout features 3 different polar patterns on the M 49 V. All other examples feature the M 49 V with the cardioid pattern. All examples were recorded directly into an Apollo x4 without any additional processing. Each example was carefully measured to ensure the exact measurement to the mic capsule.
