I've been to few places as unique as Quobba Campground, and to be honest, we didn't hold very high expectations when entering!

Like many, we were only using this as a quick stop over to see the iconic attractions nearby but were charmed with its unique setting😬

Quobba Campground is located approx. 45mins outside of the West Australian town called Carnarvon. The road to Quobba is all bitumen except for a small km stretch ( if that ) at the end, which is in good condition also.

The campground runs on a first-in, best-dressed basis and will set you back $11 per night / per person.

Pay Online/provide cash to the ranger.

The campground is also home to a heap of old fishing "shacks", which on the surface look abandoned; however, I'm told that locals still use the shacks as weekenders and for fishing trips!

They add an eery feeling to the campground, but that's one of the unique things about this joint.

There is mobile reception, it’s dog friendly and fires are permitted ( pending any firebans )🔥

How exciting can water coming from rocks be, right? I was of this opinion, but wow, did this blow my mind! The ferociousness, the sound, the roar and the power were way cooler than I expected them to be! Definitely have got to check that out!💦

Just a short walk from the campground is a little spot called "The Aquarium". In a sheltered bay protected by a protruding rock wall and a reef, this little spot is a perfect swimming spot for kids as it's protected from any waves and is very calm but also, under the surface, lies a pretty cool snorkelling spot—heaps of fluro fish, some bigger ones, octopus and more. The trick is to go at high tide to give you space between your belly and the reef. In my case, the more water, the better. 🐟

That iconic shot with the King Waves Kill sign is almost a must for many travellers! The sign can be found at the T-intersection leading to the campground.🌊

It may not be the most pristine-looking campground, but it certainly has its unique charm, and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. After spending the last few months in amazing campgrounds around Exmouth for $8P/N, it's certainly not as good of value; in my opinion, however, still reasonably cheap in comparison to a lot of caravan parks and other campgrounds. Still has pretty good value.✅

I'd come back here and recommend visiting to check out some of these amazing sights for yourself!🙌
