IVF or an invitro fertilization or what we call as test tube baby procedure, was initially started for a couple who has problem with the fallopian tube. There was a tubal blockage and that is how this technique come into existence where the eggs and the sperms were taken out from the ovaries and in the lab the eggs and the sperms are fertilized together in the lab and then the pregnancy was transferred back into the uterus which resulted in Loius Brown being born in 1978.From thereon this treatment of IVF has gained so much advancements. If the lady is facing ovulatory dysfunctions, or any issues with the egg development, unexplained infertility where the couple has been trying to have a conception and there is failure of Intrauterine Insemination and simple methods have failed, then we advise them to come for an IVF. Endometriosis is another problem in the ovaries where lady is having endometriotic cysts and is diagnosed with moderate endometriosis, preferably IVF gives a better chance of conception than any other simple treatment methods. Over the years even male partners have come into scenario. We have come into a state where there are male problems that is oligoasthenospermia, where the count and the motility is less and simple treatment methods are not possible options. Then we get into doing the latest treatment of IVF that is Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection, that is ICSI, where the eggs will be directly injected with the sperms and the fertilization happens in the lab. There are other reasons like azoospermia, where the husband semen does not have any sperms, then we suggest them for testicular extraction of the sperms where we make nick into the testis, take the sperms out if it is possible and use those sperms for creating the test tube baby and is a fantastic option as this gives them their own baby when they were earlier suggested for donor insemination or adoptions as their methods of conception methods to have a baby.
