First and foremost Danganronpa and its sequel are easily one of the best games I have ever played. It was the series which first introduced me to the visual novel genre, and I'm so glad it did! It's quite difficult to stumble across a game which exceeds the boundaries of creativity. But with Danganronpa 2, those boundaries may as well not exist. But before this starts turning into a review of the game, Ikoroshia is the theme played during the investigation sections of the game. It's easily my favourite piece of the series so I really wanted to see what I could do with it after giving it some thought. I was on the piano one day and I happened to play a random chord. I thought to myself, "this chord sounds a lot like Ikoroshia." That's honestly how this composition first came about in my mind! I quickly realised it would be a huge stretch to try and turn Ikoroshia into a piano arrangement so I settled on seeing how far my imagination could take me when turning it into a composition quite different from the original.

Usually in my descriptions I like to give a brief overview of the story or the characters. This time, I really can't do that. Everything from the characters to the class trials makes this game so easy to spoil. What I can say is that this is one of those rare games which needs to be talked about so much more than it already is. It really pushes the limits of how a game can create an engaging story from start to finish. I never would have touched Danganronpa had it not been for a friend introducing me to it. He just happened to have watched a Youtube lets play covering it.
