Hyundai's latest generation of the i20 is clearly aimed at the Maruti Swift. Hyundai wants to take the premium hatchback crown away from Maruti and the i20 comes loaded with the latest technology and features to do just that. We've pitted the petrol version of both these cars here to find out who is the king of this highly competitive and lucrative segment.

Maruti Swift petrol comes in a price range of Rs. 4.75-6.36 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi), while the Hyundai i20 petrol is priced in a domain of Rs. 5.60-9.02 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). The Swift doesn't get any automatic transmission variant, but the i20's top-end variant gets an automatic gearbox. As far as mileage is concerned, Maruti Swift has the better of Hyundai i20 as it delivers 15-16kmpl against the i20's 13-14kmpl in petrol trim. Since i20 is an expensive, premium and relatively new product than Swift, it boasts of more bells and whistles as compared to Swift.
