Differences Between Deductive and Inductive Reasoning, What is Reasoning? Before moving onward, it is advisable to define Reasoning. Reasoning is a mental process in which moves from known to unknown. In Philosophy, Reasoning is of two kinds: Deductive Reasoning and Inductive Reasoning.

Deductive Reasoning moves from general facts to specific facts. Contrarily, Inductive Reasoning moves from specific facts to generalization. Moreover, the conclusion of Deductive Reasoning is Certain or Uncertain. While the conclusion of Inductive Reasoning is Probable.
